Mayor Paul E. Winfield

Paul E. Winfield is licensed to practice law in the State of Mississippi. He has been admitted to practice in the Northern and Southern District Courts of Mississippi and before the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the former Municipal Court Judge for the City of Port Gibson. Paul is currently serving in his fifth term as the city attorney for the City of Port Gibson. He represented the Warren County Board of Supervisors as its board attorney from 2005 to 2008.
Paul has successfully provided legal support in various areas of law. He has negotiated multi-million dollar contracts and awards for his clients. As a board attorney, he has monitored legal compliance for business and governmental entities on the local, state and federal levels. In 2007, he became a member of the National Association of Bond Counsel organization as a result of his legal work on several general obligation and industrial revenue bond issues in excess of 300 million dollars. In addition to his grassroots work, Paul has forgone attorney's fees by doing pro bono work in numerous cases involving the less fortunate.
Paul is married to Malissa Winfield, who is a practicing attorney in Jackson, Mississippi. They have a son, Paul Evans II.
