The late Mr. Sims, who was ...Read More Vicksburg Offers Amnesty For Payment of Fines The City of Vicksburg has declared February 1, 2012 through March 31, 2012 an amnesty period for payment of outstanding fines. The Board voted this week to allow the amnesty so that citizens can pay their delinquent fines and avoid a visit to Municipal Court.Trash Container Lids On The Way Toter Inc. informed us this week that the trash container lids that were on backorder for several months will be shipped next week. As soon as the lids arrive, repairs to damaged containers will begin. Washington Street Bridge To Reopen After a three year closure, the Washington Street Bridge will reopen for public use on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 12:00 noon. |

On February 7, 2012, at 10:15 a.m.* CST, more than one million people across nine states will participate in the 2012 Great Central U.S. ShakeOut! The ShakeOut is an annual, region-wide earthquake drill in which participants will simultaneously practice the recommended action during an earthquake which is Drop, Cover and Hold-On: DROP to the ground, take COVER by getting under a sturdy desk or table, and HOLD-ON to it until the shaking stops. |
