Sales Tax Holiday July 27 and 28, 2012The annual Sales Tax Holiday begins12:01 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, and ends 12:00 midnight Saturday, July
 28, 2012. Please review the listing of eligible and non-eligible clothing and footwear items for more information.
The items exempt from sales tax during
the Sales Tax Holiday are identical to those items exempt in prior years. Clothing and footwear items, meant to be worn next to the body and cost less than $100 per item, are exempt from sales tax during this period. Accessories such as jewelry, handbags, wallets, watches, backpacks, and similar items do not qualify for the Sales Tax Holiday. Cleats and items worn in conjunction with an athletic or recreational activity are other sample items not eligible. School supplies and computers are not included.

Governor's Cup Baseball Tournament Come be a part of Vicksburg's biggest baseball tournament of the year. Scores of teams from around the State will be in Vicksburg the weekend of July 27-29 and August 3-5, 2012. Bring your team and compete with some of the best young players around. You will play in the Governor's Cup as the same age you played your State Tournament.First weekend - 7/27 - 7/29 ALL even ages 6/8/10/12/14/(15/16)Second weekend - 8/3 - 8/5 ALL odd ages 7/9/11/13/ 8U Kid Pitch - 13's will play on 60'6" mound and 90' bases. |

New Businesses Patsy's Downtown Market, located at 1205 Washington St, should be a definite stop on your visit to downtown Vicksburg. Owner, Patsy Humble, opened the first of May. She carries specialty food and beer, healthy snacks, and soft drinks. She also has art pieces from local artists. The bottle cap art she has is a must see.
